Wright Tree Service Acquires Calgary-based ArborCare Tree Service
Wright Tree Service, an employee owned vegetation management company serving utility companies, announced the acquisition of ArborCare Tree Service, a tree service in Canada based out of Calgary, Alberta.
Wright Tree Service, founded in 1933 with the corporate headquarters based out of Des Moines, Iowa, provides integrated vegetation management, storm restoration and work planning services to utility companies and their communities across the country. ArborCare Tree Service, established in 1983, provides commercial, residential and utility services.
The acquisition commences operations effective May 24, 2019 with the utility side of the organization doing business under Wright Tree Service and will continue to provide vegetation management services throughout Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan. Company leadership has transitioned over to Wright Tree Service’s leadership, and current ArborCare Tree Service owner Jim Fisher has stepped down as president and chief operating officer as Jesus Vetencourt assumes primary leadership duties as vice president of operations.
“I am certain Wright Tree Service will ensure a successful future for our company, clients and valued employees,” said Jim Fisher. “One of the things that attracted us to Wright Tree Service that ultimately led to us making the decision to hand the company over to them is their reputation in the industry and the engaged leadership team they have.”
With nearly 4,000 employees and a multi-national footprint, Wright Tree Service provides ArborCare with the ability to expand their line of business to include integrated vegetation management, storm restoration and work planning.
“As our companies undergo change, we are taking measures to ensure that your experience does not,” said Fisher. “Our goal is to make this transition as seamless as possible and give you the confidence that your vegetation needs will continue to be well cared for. Wright Tree Service brings their long history, strong reputation in the industry, positive safety culture, and a broad depth of resources. We’re excited about the opportunities this will provide us.”
“ArborCare has an impressive history in their markets and communities, and Wright Tree Service can provide more support and resources from an operational perspective, including fleet capabilities, risk management, marketing, human resources, and more,” said Will Nutter, president and chief operating officer of Wright Tree Service. “We bring a lot of manpower and operational intelligence to the company and our goal is to continue providing the high quality services that ArborCare has grown to be known for over the last 36 years.”
