Wright Tree Service Promotes Stanko and Platt to Regional Manager

July 30, 2024

Wright Tree Service, an employee-owned company specializing in utility vegetation management, recently promoted two longtime internal leaders to regional manager roles in the U.S.

Afton Stanko will oversee our railroad division, as well as all operations in Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas. He joined WTS in 2007 and has worked as a groundworker, crew leader, general foreperson, division supervisor, and division manager. Stanko has been an active member of the Utility Arborist Association Safety Committee since 2017 and is an International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist. “I am thrilled about the new opportunities this role presents,” said Stanko. “I look forward to immersing myself in my expanded territory, building strong relationships with our customer base, and partnering with them on their vegetation programs.”

Travis Platt will oversee our heavy equipment division, as well as all operations in Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska. He joined WTS as a groundworker in 1998. Platt has moved through the ranks as crew leader, work planner, general foreperson, project manager, and division manager. He is an ISA Certified Arborist and a member of the Kansas Arborist Association. “I am excited to take on a new role with such a great team,” Platt said.

Wright Tree Service President Wade Myers believes both Stanko and Platt will drive success within their respective regions. “Afton makes sure our customers’ needs are met and we can grow without risking employee safety,” Myers said. “Travis has a true passion for mentoring our employees to become future leaders, which is another key to our continued growth.”
